Here in Kiev

Our appointment is tomorrow with the State Dept.of Adoption. In the meantime, we are sharing an apartment with our friends David and Leean Luke. They adopted five girls from Ukraine three years ago, then fell in love with a little boy they hosted last year. Leean even sold her wedding rings to pay to bring him home, and her kids offered to give up a few Christmases. They have really sacrificed to give him a better life. I have seen young girls working as prostitutes on the streets, and it sends chills up my spine to think of the life that awaits these orphans when their time at the orphanage is over.
